Mr. Kirby, Assistant Principal

Assistant Principal
Dear Blue Jay Family,

As we kick off another school year, I would like to take this opportunity to let you all know how grateful I am to have the opportunity to serve as principal of such a wonderful school.  The faculty, staff, as well as the district administration are welcoming and supportive.  I am eager to partner with you as we work collectively to enhance our students’ lives. Positive attitudes and strong work ethic will help us all achieve our mission of educating all students and allowing them to reach their full potential.  The faculty and staff strive to prepare meaningful and engaging lessons to provide our students with the best education possible. We will inspire, empower and educate with excellence!

Sincerely, Mrs. Nancy Kennedy

Mr. Kirby's Bio

I graduated from Danville High School (Morgan County, AL) in 1985 where I played football, basketball and baseball (and was a pretty good guy). After high school, I went to Tuscaloosa and graduated from the University of Alabama (1991) with bachelor degrees in Health Sciences, Earth and Space Science and Physical Education. Many years later (2010), I received a master's degree in Administration from Auburn University.

I began teaching in 1992 at South Girard Middle School (Phenix City) and have taught or been an administrator at Russell County Junior High, Russell County High, Albert P. Brewer High (Somerville, AL), Cullman Middle, Opelika Middle, Oliver Elementary, and Mt. Olive Intermediate.

I am married to my lovely wife Laura and have two children, Riley (son) and Keely (daughter) that go to school in the community in which we live, Beauregard.
